After one of the two 50w halogens died, I replaced them both and now neither bulbs will light. The harness IS connected to the two bulbs and it shows some voltage on it (The tool is a 3 neon bulb voltage tester, 120v 250v, 1200v) all the way to the end of the harness. But none of the three brightness settings will light the bulbs. The fan works on all three speeds, so the fuse is good. Any ideas?

When the kitchen lights are on at the brightest setting or when it's daylight,, the night light setting can be turned off as described on Page 2 of the Braun QP3 Series Homeowners Instruction Manual. However, if you turn off the night light setting at night when all the kitchen lights are on everything appears to work correctly, i.e., the night light turns off. But when you turn off all the lights in the kitchen, the night light will automatically turn back on in about 7 seconds. When that happens, you cannot turn off the night light using the instructions on Page 2 of the manual or any other way that I can determine. Is this a defect or normal operation? If normal, suppose I don't want any lights on. How do I turn the unit off?

Answer:
Thank you for your question. QP330SS has a 2-level ambient light sensor - automatically turns on night-time lights when low room light level is detected. This acts as an automatic night-light for safe kitchen visits when dark. When the night time setting is active, pressing and holding the low light setting button will turn the night time setting off. If this is not happening please contact our technical service department at 1-800-637-1453

5 month after we purchased the unit, we had a factory authorized service person come out for a repair. After trying for 40 minutes to follow your instructions he had to call the engineering department at the factory. They gave him a patchwork fix and he got the fans to operate. I believe that the control panel has been defective from day one, because it never could be programmed according to your instruction manual. now the unit is out of warranty, and I am stuck with a unit that is not working. I should have bought a cheap one instead of the top of the line. It is easier to throw $50 away instead of $400.

Display is now off and I can't seem to turn it back on. I think I set -d- to off and -s- to off. Also no indicator lights, but fan and light settings work. How to turn display (clock, etc) on from this condition?

Psyatika,
Thank you for contacting us. You have put your hood to Sleep. In order to turn your display back on, press and hold the 2nd buttom right under the menu display for 2 seconds. If this does not work, you might try turning the power off to your hood through your electrical box for about a minute to reset the controls. Our Tech Support Group is available Monday through Friday from 7:30AM-6:00PM CST at 1-800-637-1453. We'd love to hear from you if you still need our help. Have a great day.
