    I want to install your vented island hood and need to know if it can be installed without major ceiling damage. It is between floors but I have a way to run vent for the product. Thanks

    Thank you for your question on the model E5490SS range hood. If you are installing this range hood to a ceiling that does not have an attic or crawl space above, you would need to tear out more ceiling than would normally be necessary and patch the ceiling after the installation is done. There is support framing that would need to be done in the ceiling before installation.

    Duct Location Over Cooktop

    When installing, do you center the 6" duct at the centerline of an "X" made by lines running from burner to burner on the cooktop? If not, then how does one locate the duct?

    Thank you for your question on the model E5490SS range hood. The best place to install the range hood is by placing the center of the range hood directly over the center of the cook top. This unit is offset please contact Technical Support for more information at 800-637-1453
