    Louder than thought

    I have just received and installed your model #463023 hood and am finding that it is considerable louder than i think it should be. I'm talking about so loud that it's hard to carry on a conversation any where near it. I hear a normal fan sound but also seem to hear a kind of hum, like a transformer/electrical resistor might make. How do i know if it is louder than it should be?

    This hood has a bit higher sone rating (7.5 sones) than several other models we offer. However, the hood should not be as loud as your description.
