To learn more about this revolutionary new product and how you can install it up to 60% faster in retrofits and up to 20% faster in new construction, CLICK HERE.

BROAN ULTRA™ Series Fans deliver everything you wished for in a bath fan – premium ventilation to help reduce airborne pollutants, extremely quiet operation, energy efficiency, consistent power and most impressively, the fastest, easiest, most universal installation available. These fans are ideal for both spot ventilation in humid bathrooms, as well as continuous ventilation to meet various building codes and Green Building standards around the United States.

    • 110 CFM reduces humidity to quickly eliminate fogged mirrors and manage moisture in bathrooms up to 100 square feet, so your vision will always be clear and your surroundings will always be comfortable
    • ULTRASilent™ Sound Technology results in operation at less than 0.3 Sones – the quietest sound rating attainable -- for an environment that is so quiet, you’ll likely forget the fan is on
    • ULTRAQuick™ Installation Technology uses an exclusive telescoping mounting frame with pre-installed screws, snap-in housing, snap-in blower and an inside-out mounting duct connector making installation up to 60% faster in retrofits and up to 20% faster in new construction, saving you time, money and aggravation
    • Retrofit installations can be done entirely from the room-side – no attic access required. This means a faster, easier installation, so you can move on to something else
    • Unique telescoping mounting frame can be placed and fastened through drywall hole because it expands from 14” to 24” and fits any type of joist, I-Joist or truss construction for a “no guesswork” installation to make the work fast and easy
    • Snap-in housing and blower further simplify installation since you can hear – and feel – when they are properly seated. Easy-to-position carriage allows housing location adjustment between joists so you can control the correct ceiling placement
    • ULTRAGreen™ DC Motor Technology for energy efficiency almost 10 times greater than ENERGY STAR® requirements so your fan won’t even be noticed on your utility bill
    • ULTRASmart™ Control Technology maintains rated power (CFM) in nearly every installation so you can have confidence you’re getting the performance you need
    • UL Listed for use over tubs and showers with a GFCI circuit; so you can capture the steam before it spreads throughout the room by locating your fan exactly where you need it the most

I have an 80 CFM fan with 4" ducting. I noticed the soffit vent I chose is only 3.5" at the opening. Will this significantly degrade performance of the fan?

Thank you for your question on the model XB110 exhaust fan. I’m sorry, but this fan is not designed to be used with a speed control.

    Capable of extended continuous use?

My builder installed an S80U-A fan in an upstairs bathroom, putting the switch in the basement. Told us that, in general, we should keep the switch on, because the fan pushing air out of the house 24x7 would induce a certain amount of fresh air inflow from the outside. That old fan has officially spun its last, and I'm looking to replace it. This XB80 fan looks like a good candidate, but I want to make sure I'm not going to kill the motor by running it 24x7.

    Answer:
If you are looking for continuous ventilation, we would suggest looking at the Ultra Series model number ZB80, instead of the XB80. The ZB80 will give you a low 30 cfm for continuous use. You can then increase the cfm when needed up to 80 cfm’s. You can view this model on the Ultra website at http://www.broanultra.com/. Please contact customer service if you have more questions at 1-800-558-1711.

    Answer:
For optimum performance 6" duct is recommended on 110 CFM models and 6" or 4" duct for 80 and 50 CFM (these models have a 6" to 4" reducer included in the carton if needed).
